Capturing your love story...

while you bond with baby.

I am an award winning filmmaker turned family documentarian...

I am an award winning Filmmaker with a passion for telling stories. I studied directing at the University of Michigan and first came to Los Angeles in 2001 with the intent of directing theatre.  Soon realizing that I would have to find another way to make a living, my focus turned towards teaching acting and directing film.  I have taught acting since 2002 and have worked with actors of all ages.

My feature film debut, Desertion, took home the top feature award at the Valley Film Festival and is currently available on Amazon.  In addition to the narrative form, I have also worked for many years filming weddings, live bands, music videos, stage plays, and various documentary style projects for creatives throughout Los Angeles, including Ice T and the making of his album, Black Ice, Urban Legends.

Despite all of my professional accomplishments, my most challenging role was when I became a mom to Xander.  As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I became conscious of everything I put in my body and on it, determined to be organic for the both of us.  I questioned everything and researched online, in books, and watched documentaries. The Business of Being Born motivated me to have a completely natural childbirth while Ina May Gaskin inspired me to go with my intincts. I received amazing support from my Doula Dahlia and I was able to have the natural birht I wanted. I became a baby wearing, co-sleeping, extended bresfeading and attachment parenting advocate.  Of all my photos, the black and white image above is the one I am most proud of. I captured it in the hosiptal on his second day of life with only the bathroom light as a source, it has not beein cropped or retouched in any way.

Upon returning to the chaos of life, I found I was only able to capture Xander's special moments on video with my iPhone, in between feedings and diaper changes.  I knew I couldn't be the only one with this problem, so it was then that I set out to create a business for myself that not only could I be passionate about, but truly feel that I was making a differenct for my clients and their families by providing an invaluable service.  I am honored to be invited into my clients' lives to create something so special that can be cherished for years to come.  The reactions I get when my clients receive their final cut is a constant reminder of how important my job is.

I am an affialiate member of DASC-Doulas Association of Southern California. I shoot on the Sony FS100, a super 35mm digital motion camcorder, a hybrid between a video camera and digital SLR.  I have the capability to shoot in true slow-motion HD.  I edit on Final Cut Pro.
